Hockey coaching & player development

Building skilled, confident players on and off the ice.

My approach to hockey coaching goes beyond drills and game strategy — it focuses on developing complete athletes. With experience coaching youth players and working closely with developing athletes, I emphasize skating fundamentals, hockey IQ, confidence, and a strong work ethic that carries into both sport and life.

I have a special passion for working with beginner and developing players who may feel overlooked in traditional training environments. Not every athlete starts at an elite level — and they shouldn’t have to in order to experience growth, confidence, and success. I specialize in helping lower-level and newer players build strong fundamentals, improve skating and puck skills, and most importantly, believe in their own progress. Every athlete deserves the opportunity to see improvement, gain confidence, and truly fall in love with the game of hockey. My coaching creates a supportive space where players develop at their own pace while discovering the joy, pride, and resilience that hockey can bring.

My goal is to create an environment where athletes feel challenged, supported, and motivated to grow. Training focuses on skill development, decision-making, teamwork, and mental resilience while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Whether an athlete is preparing for competitive play, building foundational skills, or looking to gain confidence on the ice, my coaching philosophy centers on long-term development, discipline, and a genuine love for the game.

Helping Minnesota kids fall in love with hockey

Starting hockey as a parent can feel overwhelming — equipment, teams, tryouts, ice time, costs, terminology, and knowing where your child even fits. In Minnesota, hockey is an incredible community and opportunity for kids, but many families don’t know where to begin.

I work closely with new hockey families to help kids enter the sport in a positive, confidence-building way. My coaching focuses on beginner and developing players who want to learn the game, improve fundamentals, and most importantly, fall in love with hockey. I believe every child deserves the chance to feel successful on the ice, regardless of starting skill level or prior experience.

Beyond training players, I also guide parents through the process — explaining development paths, local associations, expectations within organizations like Minnesota Hockey, and how to support your athlete without pressure or confusion. My goal is to remove the intimidation factor so both kids and parents can enjoy the journey.

If you’re a parent thinking:

  • “My child wants to try hockey, but I don’t know where to start.”

  • “We’re new and feel behind other kids.”

  • “I want my child to gain confidence and love being on the ice.”

You’re exactly who I love helping.
